  1. Awareness of local burial and grieving traditions eventually helped healthcare workers fight the spread of the virus.

  2. As healthcare workers and burial teams altered their procedures during the 2014 West African Ebola outbreak, and as community leaders pressed people to adapt traditional ceremonies, the spread of Ebola began to slow.
