Findings

Additional insights we found via Louisiana State University

  1. Clinicians may recommend exposure therapy—exposing oneself to the thing triggering fears in small doses—as one way to help overcome a fear.

  2. Exposure therapy may be an effective treatment because it offers the brain new alternative information, namely, that this experience or substance is manageable and not too scary.
