Findings

Additional insights we found via this resource

  1. There is no map on the back of the Declaration of Independence, though the reverse does bear a notation reading "Original Declaration of Independence dated July 4, 1776."

  2. The clock on the back of the $100 bill in the film reads 2:22, a key clue. However, the $100 bill before a 2009 redesign read 4:10, and no known reason is known for the time.

  3. The film depicts Independence Hall as a filming location, but the scenes were actually shot at a brick-for-brick replica at Knott's Berry Farm in California, built in the 1960s.

  4. The movie claims Charles Carroll was a Mason, but Carroll was actually the only Catholic signer of the Declaration, and the Catholic Church had prohibited membership in Masonic organizations since 1738.
