Ethylene and propylene are linked together via a chemical process called polymerization to create plastic fibers, such as nylon and polyester.
Strands of these plastics are then cut into nurdles and cooled before being transported to processing facilities, where they are shaped into final products and enhanced with additives that affect color, flexibility, and other properties.
