Additional insights we found via WIRED

  1. Before Pixar's invention, computer-generated images were hardcoded on computers, one frame at a time.

  2. As the technology evolved, it allowed live action sequences to be projected into the software, allowing for more lifelike special effects.

  3. The software was responsible for some of the biggest breakthroughs in special effects, including "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," "Jurassic Park," and "Lord of the Rings."
