The combination is a recurring Easter egg in almost every Pixar movie, appearing on license plates, posters, and in other seemingly unimportant locations.
It's a reference to a classroom at California Institute of the Arts, where some of Pixar's founders took an animation class.
It appears in non-Pixar animated films, too, as an homage by animators who also cut their teeth in the classroom.
