Additional insights we found via Discover Magazine
Most people dream for about two hours every night and recall about two dreams per week, but memory encoding is especially fragile upon waking, causing memories of dreams to fade.
The blare of an alarm clock can short-circuit our encoding of dreams, making them hard to recall, and dream recall may also be influenced by personality, interests, and socialization.
Women, on average, tend to have stronger dream recall than men. Among children, however, there is no discernible difference—highlighting the effect of factors including social conditioning.
