To construct a solar eclipse viewer, use a pen to outline the bottom of a box on a piece of paper, cut the outline, and tape it to the bottom of the box.
Once the bottom of the box has been lined with paper, cut two holes at the top of the box, cover one of them with aluminum foil, and then poke a hole in the foil.
During a solar eclipse, face away from the eclipse and look through the opening in the solar eclipse viewer that does not have aluminum foil, which will allow you to view a projection of the solar eclipse that will have passed through the hole in the aluminum foil and projected onto the paper.
