Neutrinos—elusive cousins of the electron that rarely interact with other matter—have been observed to transform into one another, which can only occur if they have mass, but the Standard Model predicts that they should be massless.
The Standard Model is the most comprehensive theory of particle physics, and describes forces as the result of force particles being exchanged between matter, but it does not incorporate the theoretical gravity particle, the graviton.
The Standard Model does not contain any particles whose properties match those of dark matter or dark energy, which make up about 25% and 70% of the universe, respectively.
