According to Stan Getz's son, Nick Getz, the legendary saxophonist thought the song was not a good fit for the album "Getz/Gilberto" because Astrud Gilberto's voice was too unprofessional.
That low regard was reflected in the record's credits: Astrud Gilberto was allegedly paid $120 for the recording session and received no royalties for the song.
The recording went on to win the Grammy Award for record of the year in 1965.
