See the 16-question Greyson questionnaire on near-death experiences and how they're scored.

Findings

Additional insights we found via The International Association for Near-Death Studies

  1. The Greyson Scale, developed in the early 1980s by psychiatrist Bruce Greyson, provides a questionnaire for self-assessing near-death experiences, allowing researchers to quantify and track the phenomenon.

  2. A near-death experience on this scale has a cut-off score of 7/32 to qualify as a near-death experience. Overall, however, there's no consensus among researchers about the definition of NDEs.
