  1. Standing about 3,505 meters (2.2 miles) tall, the Denmark Strait cataract is an underwater waterfall located between Iceland and Greenland.

  2. The world's tallest waterfall can exist underwater because colder water from the Nordic Seas is denser and sinks in warm waters of the Irminger Sea, creating an estimated flow of 3.48 billion liters (123 million cubic feet) per second.
