When mixed with existing coquina shell, pulverized glass—previously used to fill holes on horse trails and dirt roads—has provided a safe, durable, and permeable surface for greenhouse floors.
As part of the program to recycle glass into sand for use throughout Disney World, bottles and jars are not collected from certain locations at EPCOT's World Showcase, which may result in more than 1 ton of glass per day.
