Additional insights we found via HISTORY

  1. In ancient Greek, "Homeros" translates to "blind" or "hostage."

  2. Some believe that Demodocus, a blind poet in "The Odyssey," is intended to be a proxy for the author.

  3. Scholars note that Aristotle, the ancient Greek philosopher, and Cynaethus, another ancient Greek poet, both referenced Homer's blindness.
