Satellites in low Earth orbit can experience changes in their orbits due to shifts in solar activity, which alter the amount of energy Earth's atmosphere receives and its resulting density.

Additional insights we found via NOAA
During the peak of the sun's 11-year cycle, additional energy can warm Earth's upper atmosphere, causing it to expand, rise, and be replaced by denser air from lower latitudes, which exerts more drag on satellites.
Additional drag forces can slow satellites and cause them to lose altitude, with some requiring remaneuvering every few weeks to maintain their intended trajectories.
