  1. This interactive depicts the relationships among pathogens that can be transmitted from animals to people, using data from Austria spanning 1975–2022.

  2. It includes 197 zoonotic agents documented in the literature and naturally occurring during the 47-year period in that central European country.

  3. This visualization includes three types of pathogens—bacteria, viruses, and eukaryota. As viewers scroll, they can see the relationships among animal hosts, invertebrate vectors (e.g., mosquitoes), and environmental factors that can lead to disease transmission.
