  1. In 1967, Sir David Attenborough worked for the BBC when the broadcaster transitioned to color. While watching the Wimbledon Championships in color for the first time, he suggested that tournaments improve visibility of the ball by changing it from white to yellow.

  2. The International Tennis Federation introduced yellow balls as a rule in 1972, and Wimbledon waited until 1986 to make the change.
