Simulate how the distribution of dark matter affects stellar orbits within galaxies, which allows astronomers to infer the presence of the invisible substance from the motion of stars.

Because orbital speeds decrease with distance from massive objects and increase with their mass, astronomers can determine how fast stars should move based on the observable matter in a galaxy and calculate the amount of dark matter by comparing the predicted and observed orbital velocities.
By modifying the dark matter density at different distances from the center of a simulated galaxy, users can plot the resulting orbital speed of stars.
Preset data enables users to replicate astrophysicists' work in determining the dark matter concentration that best fits observed structures.
