Around 1,300 officers intercepted roughly 600 travelers seven miles from Stonehenge, enforcing a High Court injunction banning the annual Stonehenge Free Festival.
The confrontation ended with 537 arrests, making it one of the largest mass arrests of civilians in English legal history.
A civil court later awarded 21 travelers £24,000 in damages for false imprisonment and wrongful arrest.
