Why does the body have a stress response?
When encountering a stressful situation, the human body typically goes into what is known as "fight-or-flight" mode. The carefully orchestrated yet near-instantaneous sequence of hormonal changes and physiological responses helps someone to fight the threat off or flee to safety.
